That being said, the Mazda provides a greater number of options with seven trim levels to the four of the Elantra. The Mazda trims include the 2.0 Sedan, 2.5 Sedan, Select, Preferred, Premium, 2.5 Turbo, and 2.5 Turbo Premium Plus. Meanwhile, the Elantra trims include the SE, SEL, N Line, and Limited.
There aren’t many things better than having a high-performance vehicle. The Mazda3 and the Hyundai Elantra are adept at this, offering multiple engine options that have a lot of power. That being said, the Mazda3 can give you the power you crave. Its base engine is a 2.0L 4-cylinder Skyactiv®-G engine that will give you 155 horsepower and 150 lb-ft of torque.
It’s also got a 2.5L 4-cylinder Skyactiv®-G engine that produces 186 horsepower and 186 lb-ft of torque as well as offers a 2.5 Dynamic Pressure Turbo Skyactiv®-G engine that can amass from 227 to 250 horsepower and from 310 to 320 lb-ft of torque.
Unfortunately, drivers who choose the Hyundai Elantra won’t have as much power since the base engine is a 2.0L inline 4-cylinder engine that puts out 147 horsepower and 132 lb-ft of torque, and the next level up is a 1.6L inline 4-cylinder engine that produces 201 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque.
Having multiple trim levels and a lot of power is awesome, but your ride can be even greater with the latest in technology, from infotainment to safety and more. While both the Mazda3 and the Hyundai Elantra offer amazing technological advancements, the Mazda3 has the edge in a few areas.
At 8.8 inches, the standard infotainment screen in the Mazda is bigger than the 8-inch screen in the Hyundai, which can make seeing things on the screen a bit easier. The Mazda3 also has the standard Mobile 911 automatic emergency notification feature, which automatically dials 911 from a paired device when the unexpected happens.
The Hyundai doesn’t have a 911 call feature like the Mazda does, which could make calling for help more difficult if you’re ever involved in a collision.
