Choose the Refined Power Your Commute Calls for

When looking for your next ride, you want to start with the type of performance your desired car can provide. A more commanding engine can create a smoother and more refined drive on the open road, so you’ll be happy with the Mazda CX-30 and its Skyactiv®-G 2.5-liter 4-cylinder. This motor delivers 186 horsepower and 186 lb-ft of torque for a thrilling ride wherever the road takes you.

The Hyundai Kona, on the other hand, is fitted with a smaller 2.0-liter standard engine with only 147 horsepower and 132 lb-ft of torque. You do have the option to upgrade to a turbocharged motor, but it still falls short of the Mazda CX-30 with only 175 horsepower.

MAZDA CX-30 vs Hyundai Kona: Interior Dimensions

As you jet around town enjoying the supreme power these crossovers provide, it’s important you stay comfortable. Fortunately, the Mazda CX-30 and Hyundai Kona offer over 38 inches of front headroom. When it comes to rear space, though, your passengers may prefer the Mazda CX-30:

MAZDA CX-30

Rear Headroom: 38.3 inches

Rear Legroom: 36.3 inches

Hyundai Kona

Rear Headroom: 37.8 inches

Rear Legroom: 34.6 inches

Not only does the Mazda CX-30 offer more space for your friends to stretch out in, but it also comes with 20.2 cubic feet of cargo room. Stow your groceries and shopping bags away with even greater ease with the help of an available Rear Power Liftgate. The Kona falls short once again with just 19.2 cubic feet of cargo volume and no power liftgate available.

Mazda CX-9 Safety Tech

Stay Out of Harm’s Way on the Open Road

To help you stay protected at every turn, both the Mazda CX-30 and Hyundai Kona come standard with Lane-keep Assist. This feature detects unintentional swaying and provides gentle steering corrections to keep you on track and in your lane.

The Mazda CX-30 then takes security to the next level with standard Mazda Radar Cruise Control with Stop & Go. This safety feature creates more relaxing commutes by maintaining a preset following speed between you and the car ahead, even bringing you to a stop if traffic calls for it.

Unfortunately, the comparable Smart Cruise Control system in the Hyundai Kona doesn’t have Stop & Go capabilities.  You’ll also need to add it as an upgrade since it doesn’t come standard on this model.
