Developed by Mazda for 2022, Kinematic Posture Control manages different vehicle systems to help the Mazda MX-5 Miata provide comfort and stability. During high-g cornering, KPC applies a slight brake to the inner rear wheel to create a more linear steering response around tight corners.

It also provides stronger braking when accelerating through corners to further limit any tire slip. Whether winding through a canyon or leisurely exploring the neighborhood, the result is a more engaging and nimble drive—and a more confident driver.

Racing Heritage

The 2022 Mazda MX-5 Miata Sport continues to honor its racing heritage with the returning Skyactiv-G 2.0L engine that provides an inspiring 181 horsepower with 151 lb-ft of torque. New for 2022, the Mazda MX-5 Miata Sport will come primarily with a 6-speed manual transmission. However, the Mazda MX-5 Miata Grand Touring is also offered with a quick-shifting 6-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters.

The 2022 Mazda MX-5 Miata Sport keeps most of the alluring exterior design from the previous model year. This includes a black soft top, metallic black 16-inch alloy wheels, dual exhaust, and LED headlights and taillights to light your way. New for 2022, however, is a shiny new Platinum Quartz Metallic paint color option.

The interior of the 2022 Mazda MX-5 Miata Sport contains a number of features to keep you comfortable. A 3-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel with a tilt and telescoping function will help drivers better find their ideal seating position.
